Spark’s History

A Passion for Helping Others…

Gregin Doxsee and Alex Whitney (Spark’s founders) spent decades working on the front lines and supporting children who had significant behavioral needs. They worked with children in a wide variety of settings, including in-home, schools, residential care, and in the community at large. Alex also coordinated several behavioral programs for young children, and Gregin was a therapeutic foster parent working with some of the hardest to place at-risk children.

Creating a Better Way…

Alex and Gregin continued to expand upon their strong passion for helping others and began teaching the skills they’d learned to an upcoming generation of behavioral health professionals. While this was effective within the scope they held, they noticed many places in the community did not have access to such training programs. They saw daycares, libraries, afterschool programs, etc. containing staff asking for skilled trainings and managers lacking affordable means to provide them. Thus, the spark for a better way, and the name for a new company, was born!
